 Iron, manganese and calcium found in groundwater and surface water supplies have the potential to oxidize and form iron and manganese precipitates and scale . 

These precipitates form red/brown water and are detrimental to sprinkler systems and drip lines. In addition calcium forms detrimental scale in piping systems and fixtures.

AWS has developed a polyphosphate blend that create a ring like structure around the iron/manganese & calcium molecules to create compounds that are resistant to oxidation and precipitation. 

The use of AWS antiscalant eliminates red/brown water,  and minimizes scale formation in irrigation systems.
